National Cyber Security
Some cyber threats may threaten national security, the rule of law, the economic prosperity, and the normal development of society and Public Administrations.
Therefore, taking the Centro Nacional de Inteligencia’s knowledge of threats and vulnerabilities as a starting point, in 2004 the Centro Criptológico Nacional (CCN) was established. The CCN’s efforts are mainly focused on reducing risks and threats coming from the cyber space by means of its Computer Emergency Response Team (CCN-CERT). The CCN also intends to promote the use of safe products and systems, since it is the Certification Authority
The CCN is the institution responsible for guaranteeing the security of the information and communications technology services in the different entities of the Public Administration, as well as the security of the systems that process, store or transmit classified information.
