The outcome of the CNI’s work is the Intelligence it delivers to the authorities in support of decision-making. This Intelligence is produced following a well-defined structured process known as the Intelligence cycle.

Direction
Intelligence Directive
The Intelligence cycle begins with the annual approval of the Intelligence Directive by the Government’s Delegate Commission for Intelligence Affairs and the president of the Government. The directive is a document classified as secret that sets out the Government’s Intelligence missions or needs.
Planning
Once the Intelligence Directive has been approved, the CNI carries out a planning and organising process of the available resources to obtain the necessary information and produce Intelligence that meets the Government’s needs
