Physical Security

Physical Security is a condition attained at facilities when a series of efficient protection measures are implemented to prevent the potential access to Classified Information by non-authorized people, as well as to provide the necessary proof of an access or attempted access.

Security must be comprehensively conceived by combining supplementary security measures ensuring an adequate protection level, and by coordinating its implementation with other security measures: Personnel Security, Information Security as well as the Security of Communication and Information Systems (CIS).

The National Office of Security - or, by its express delegation, any other authorized organisation or entity - will subject all premises, buildings, offices, rooms or areas where Classified Information up to a certain classification level is to be handled or stored, to a clearance procedure in order to be classified as Restricted Access Areas.
